COLLEGE OF REFRACTIVE SURGERY – WHO WE ARE

The College of Refractive Surgery is a global, broad-based organization comprised of physicians, optometrists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physician assistants, certified ophthalmic technicians and administrators who work in the field of surgical vision correction, (aka refractive surgery).
The College of Refractive Surgery oversees curriculum development and approval, as well as accreditation, for each of these constituents.
In addition, the College of Refractive Surgery monitors the growth and impact of the industry. Social impact, economic impact, utilization, complications, technology patterns and trends are all considered.

COLLEGE OF REFRACTIVE SURGERY – MISSION

The mission of the College of Refractive Surgery is to guide the professional development of the physicians and the collaborative care personnel working in the vital area of surgical vision correction, including physicians, optometrists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physician assistants, certified ophthalmic technicians and administrators. The overarching mission is to bring the benefits of refractive surgery to more people, and to promote public confidence in refractive surgery by creating standards of excellence, safety, access to current technology and creating affordable access are top priorities at all levels of care.

MEMBER COLLEGE OF REFRACTIVE SURGERY

Individual membership in the College of Refractive Surgery is open to all collaborative care personnel working in the field of refractive surgery, including physicians, optometrists, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, physician assistants, certified ophthalmic technicians and administrators.
Association and corporate membership is open to educational and training organizations and who seek to affiliate with the College of Refractive Surgery for curriculum approval. Individuals trained in a member organization using an accredited curriculum are eligible to apply for Fellow status in the College of Refractive Surgery.

FELLOW COLLEGE OF REFRACTIVE SURGERY

Individual Members’ College of Refractive Surgery who have achieved accreditation in an approved curriculum from a member organization of the College of Refractive Surgery become eligible to apply for Fellow status in the College of Refractive Surgery. Fellowship accreditation is conferred upon verification that the individual has satisfied the curriculum requirements and has passed the accreditation examination. Interviews, professional credentials, affiliations, and professional history (such as disciplinary actions) are all considered as part of the accreditation review process.

COLLEGE OF REFRACTIVE SURGEONS – WHO WE ARE

The College of Refractive Surgeons is an elite division of the College of Refractive Surgery comprised exclusively of the physicians who perform vision correction surgery (aka refractive surgery). The College of Refractive Surgeons provides the top leadership to the College of Refractive Surgery, guiding policy, structure, and approval on the activities and initiatives of the College of Refractive Surgery.

COLLEGE OF REFRACTIVE SURGEONS – MISSION

The mission of the College of Refractive Surgeons is to develop current and future physician leadership for refractive surgery, in support of the mission of the College of Refractive Surgery.

MEMBER COLLEGE OF REFRACTIVE SURGEONS

Individual membership in the College of Refractive Surgeons include all physician members of the College of Refractive Surgery.

FELLOW COLLEGE OF REFRACTIVE SURGEONS

Individual membership for Fellow College of Refractive Surgeons are limited to those physicians who have attained Fellow status in the College of Refractive Surgery.
